December Coffee Shop Recap

Another month, another round of coffee-filled adventures across Maryland! As the calendar flips, we’re once again taking a moment to reflect on the local coffee scene—celebrating new discoveries, revisiting familiar favorites, and soaking in the unique flavors and atmospheres that make Maryland’s coffee shops so special. Our monthly coffee shop recap offers a taste of what’s brewing across the state. Let’s dive into every local Maryland coffee shop I went to in December!

Coffee Shops Visited:

Georgia Grace Cafe– I visited Georgia Grace in Old Ellicott City twice in December, and both times were a great experience! The coffee is excellent, and their food menu is impressively diverse.

On my first visit, I tried a hot peppermint mocha paired with their chocolate-dipped shortbread cookie. One thing I absolutely love is when coffee shops have cute mugs, and Georgia Grace has some of the most adorable ones I’ve seen! I’ve actually been on the lookout for one similar to theirs.

During my second visit, I opted for the iced s’mores latte, and it quickly became my favorite of the two drinks I tried. The latte was rich, with a lot of depth in the marshmallow and chocolate flavors. The peppermint mocha was also tasty, but I didn’t find it quite as unique as the s’mores.

Overall, their coffee and food are fantastic, though be prepared for a line if you’re visiting on a weekend! Fortunately, there’s plenty of seating inside and outside, and multiple free parking lots are available in Old Ellicott City

Sacré Sucré– If you’re in Fells Point or planning a day trip, Sacré Sucré is an absolute must-visit! This charming bakery and coffee shop offers some of the most unique pastries I’ve ever seen, and their coffee is top-notch.

I tried their specialty iced butterscotch latte and was blown away. The latte is topped with a thick, creamy butterscotch cold foam, which adds a deliciously sweet and velvety touch. I stirred the foam into the drink for a more blended flavor, but you can also sip it on top if you prefer. It was so good that I’ve already gone back for another round!

There’s street parking available all around Fells Point, plus a paid garage directly across from Sacré Sucré. It’s such a rare experience to find a spot that does both incredible pastries and fantastic coffee — I honestly can’t recommend them enough!

Roggenart– Even though Roggenart is more of a chain, I had to include them in my December recap because I can’t stop thinking about what I ordered! I visited their Columbia location and tried the Caramellow latte, which combines caramel and toasted marshmallow flavors. It was delicious, but what really blew me away was their Reese’s croissant — yes, you read that right, a Reese’s croissant! It was so amazing that I honestly think about it all the time.

The shop itself is super cozy and peaceful, making it a perfect spot if you’re looking for a change of scenery to get some work done or just relax. I highly recommend checking it out!

Little Market Cafe– The Little Market Cafe is my go-to coffee shop when I’m in Old Ellicott City. The staff is always friendly, the food menu offers plenty of options, and most importantly, the coffee is amazing! I tend to switch up my order, but on this particular visit, I had the iced Nutty Buddy latte, which is basically a delicious iced hazelnut latte. Their coffee never disappoints, and I absolutely love the cozy vibe of the space.

While the cafe doesn’t have indoor seating, their outdoor courtyard is super charming — and if you’re lucky, they might even have the fire pit going! Parking is convenient with Lot D directly in front of the shop, so it’s easy to pop in for a quick coffee. If you’re looking to avoid the lines at Georgia Grace, The Little Market Cafe is a great alternative.

Brewing Good Coffee Company– I’d been wanting to try this coffee shop at Savage Mill for a while, and I have to say, their space is adorable! I also love that they have a separate room for extra seating, making it a great spot to hang out or get some work done.

I ordered an iced vanilla latte, and while I personally found the coffee a bit too strong and bitter for my taste, one of our group members really enjoyed it! If you prefer your coffee on the stronger side, you’ll likely love Brewing Good.

Parking is plentiful at Savage Mill, with a small lot conveniently located right near the shop. They’re situated just by the Bollman Iron Truss Bridge, so it’s a nice spot to check out while you’re in the area!
